After appearing on several singles in the month of February such as the late Pop Smoke’s “Dior” remix, Marlo’s “My Hood”, and A Boogiie wit da Hoodie’s “Numbers”, Atlanta based rapper Gunna releases his latest single “Skybox”.
In association with YSL Records and 300 Entertainment with beat credit going to Whoistaurus (@whoistaurus), the single features smooth 808 bass with eloquently mastered reverb effects. Gunna’s signature smooth flow progresses through the track with a precision while all time sounding mellow and chilled-out.
The video for the single (produced by Tara Razavi, Lucas Prevost) initially features stop-motion scenes of an action figure meant to be Gunna. As he gets high both literally and metaphorically in a hot air balloon adorned with flags of the world, he observes what appears to be goddesses in the sky. This continues shortly until he is knocked from the sky and the video makes the transition into an exotic and foreign real-world setting.
This has been Gunna’s first single since his debut about Drip or Drown 2 over a year ago. He has assured fans that he is in “album mode” with his anticipated Wunna release to be expected soon.
