This is a fighting game full of retro throwbacks to the past games
Street Fighter is a very popular series. It has had all kinds of iterations over the years. Some have put new twists on past characters, while others have added new characters to the roster. Well now it looks like a new game is coming out. Ultra Street Fighter 2:The Final Challengers hopes to continue this trend. This writer was able to play a demo at a Nintendo Switch preview event on Friday and here is what he thought of it.
You can read the premise for Ultra Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengers below:
Street Fighter II, the game that defined the fighting game genre in the 1990s, is back on the Nintendo Switch! The newest iteration of SFII in nearly 10 years features all of the classic characters, a host of new features, as well as two new fighters; Evil Ryu and Violent Ken!
Ultra Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengers is not a bad game, although there isn’t much new here. There are only two new characters, although they are pretty cool. If you want a brand new game for this series, this game isn’t for you. It really is full of nostalgia and that is about all it really is. This writer had fun playing it, but it didn’t impress him that much. There are some cool features to this game though. You can play this game in classic pixel graphics or in a new modern look. It is also possible now to have two players take on a CPU opponent which is an interesting twist, that could be kind of fun.
