Men’s and Women’s Essentials: Spring 2016

Int Art 1 Image 1With the 2015 Fall/Winter collections coming to a close, trendsetters everywhere are scrambling to get their hands on the next must have pieces.  While the runways featured high end, not so affordable couture, it sparked some ready-to-wear inspiration.

The “cold shoulders” trend certainly adds an edge to any outfit; the runways were filled with sundresses and fitted shirts baring the skin right above the biceps. It’s that perfect amount of flare.  And businesswomen/fashionistas will love this next trend: the white button down.  This classic staple is back. And not only do they go perfectly with espresso and heels, they are being styled with everything from jeans to trousers or wide leg pants.  Go for a size up rather than a fitted look to accomplish this effortless look.

Int Art 1 Image 3Men’s fashion is certainly turning towards the contemporary.  Chinos are no longer only for the office and have made their way into the streets, from casual walks in the park to nights on the town.  Style them with sneakers or loafers and roll the cuffs off the ground and you are instantly irresistible.  They can be dressed up with a button down or dressed down with a graphic tee.

And don’t be afraid to pair it with the next hottest trend for men: the bomber jacket.  The bomber jacket has been made popular by the likes of Kanye West and Pharrell Williams but the style has evolved from urban to high fashion in a short amount of time as famous designers incorporate the trend into their collections.  Forever 21 is a great place to get a bomber from Int Art 1 Image 4$20-$50.

Spring is one of those seasons that seem to last forever.  And the right pieces can serve you well all year.  Amazingly enough, Spring ’16 is offering wardrobe staples that can keep you in style for seasons to come.
