Monster Jam Atlanta

There is a lot more to the transformation of Monster Jam than dumping dirt over the floor. The Monster Jam team includes the world’s best dirt track construction professionals. Before construction begins, the track builders need to determine how to protect the existing turf or grass. There are two separate teams (excavating and tech) needed to make the total transformation from the field to the race track.

Here is a breakdown of a stadium track fconstruction…

  • 100,000 square feet of plastic and 6,000 sheets of plywood cover the grass
  • 500 man hours to install the plastic and plywood
  • 7,500 tons of dirt or approximately 300 truck loads
  • 30 dump trucks are used
  • 20 pieces of heavy machinery
  • 1,200 square feet of banners
  • 30 gallons of paint needed to paint obstacles and track
  • 25 crush cars
  • 4 crush vans (and 2 larger obstacles depending on track)
  • 18 hours to paint logos and designs on track and obstacles
  • 6 dumpsters used as safety barriers
